A public lecture will be held, under the auspices of the British Culture Association, on the legend of the Holy Grail.
Prof. Peter Vassallo will focus on the literary treatment of this theme as it evolved from Celtic myth to Christian symbol and the significant ways it was woven into the fabric of Arthurian romance in literary texts, from Chretien de Troyes’s Conte de Graal to Sir Thomas Malory’s Le Morte D’Arthur , to Tennyson’s Idylls of the King, TS Eliot’s The Waste Land and David Jones’s In Parenthesis.
The lecture, which is dedicated to the memory of Donald Sultana, will be held at St James Cavalier (Music Room), Valletta, on Thursday at 7 p.m.
