Banif Bank has announced that it will, for the second year, be the sole sponsor of The President’s Charity Fun Run.

As in the first edition last year, President George Abela will lead the fun run from San Anton palace to the palace in Valletta, raising funds for the Community Chest Fund. The run will be held on December 5.

“Last year The President’s Charity Fun Run was a very successful event and it exceeded all our expectations. In fact, we are very proud to say that Banif made the biggest donation towards the Malta Community Chest Fund during Istrina 2009,” said Nuno Martins, Chief Operating Officer of Banif Bank (picture).

“This year we will once again be doubling the amount collected from participation fees and will be giving a commemorative t-shirt to all participants. We hope that this year will be another success story that will enable us to collect even more funds for the people in need,” continued Mr Martins.

He said that the initiative was in line with the group's policy to puts Corporate Social Responsibility high on the agenda.

“We have no doubt that the way forward for our Bank is not only to offer innovative banking products and services, but also to make our presence felt in the Maltese community. Banif is in continuous dialogue with stakeholders to create partnerships of high standing who share our values, in order to achieve improved social wellbeing and invest in the future of our society. We are committed to make a valuable contribution to the local community in proportion with the Bank’s business activities, which means that this contribution will increase in the years to come,” concluded Mr Martins.

Banif will be actively involved in this event and will be making its branches available to the general public to submit their application to participate in this Fun Run.
