Wenger hints at future role with Paris SG

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted at a future role with underperforming French side Paris SG, though not as a team coach, according to a report yesterday.

Wenger, who hails from the Alsace region of eastern France, told the Republicain Lorrain he would not rule out a role with the French first division side.

“It’s not impossible, but it would not be in a coaching role,” Wenger said in response to recent speculation linking him with the club in the near future.

Wenger even offered a vague blueprint for the future direction of the club, which is one of France’s biggest but has failed to hit the heights.

“PSG is based in an area of 10 million inhabitants and doesn’t have any competition. What needs to be done is to get a group of investors to provide the club with some financial muscle,” he said.
