Local sports franchise Urban Jungle have extended their sponsorship deal with Luxol St Andrew’s FC until season 2013/2014.
The new agreement was announced at a news conference held recently at the Luxol FC premises during which the club’s new kits were also unveiled.
Pippo Psaila and Paul Falzon, technical director and chairman of Luxol respectively, Davide Falloppa, area manager at Nike Italy, and Edward Borg, marketing manager at Time International (Urban Jungle franchise owners and local distributors of Nike) addressed the news conference.
“We are honoured that a leading sports brand such as Nike has chosen to sponsor Luxol for another three years,” Psaila said. “We are proud to be part of Nike’s football family.”
Describing Luxol as a forward-looking club, Borg said: “Luxol have always been loyal to our brands and the company values the close links it has with Luxol and all the other clubs it supports.”
Borg also announced that the Cristiano Ronaldo Speed Challenge is to be held at the Luxol grounds on October 24.
This event will see the participation of 100 players in the U-13 and U-15 age-groups from Luxol and other nurseries.
The challenge will test participants’ abilities in rounding hurdles while running with the ball.
