Ronnie Mackay, 29, of Ħamrun, spotted the woman walking along the Valletta Waterfront at around 5 a.m. and lost his temper when he realised she was with another a man.

As he tried to speak to her an argument ensued during which he allegedly pushed her to the floor. She made her way to the Valletta police station to file a report with him in pursuit.

At the station, he allegedly struck a window and smashed it.

Mr Mackay, who denied the charges, was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000 and told not to approach the woman.
