Eagle K Wear investing in €150,000 project
Eagle K Wear has become eligible for ERDF funds to invest in a €150,000 internationalisation project, Parliamentary Secretary Jason Azzopardi said during a visit.
The company, he said, will be getting 50 per cent of the funds required for the project from the ERDF. The project will help it to penetrate new markets included in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, in North Africa and the United Kingdom.
Dr Azzopardi said the company started up in Malta in 1958 when the island was a colony. Following several renewal processes, it was now competing enthusiastically in the reality of an independent Malta, which was an EU state.
Eagle K-Wear produces clothing and uniforms. It employs 35 people full timers, the equivalent of 50 a day, when including the part timers.
Through the ERDF funds, the company will be employing more people in the coming weeks.

Every company has its weakness. Some of them have been mentioned. From personal experience with the staff at Eagle K they have an attitude of wanting to improve their service and product. And this attitude is what keeps any business moving with the times. They have been around for over 50 years so something must be working well from within. I am sure that the management and staff have taken note and are looking for ways of improving their service. If not than Eagle K take note!

To Mr Pederson,
Obvioiusly I did complain with the Head of School, who OBVIOUSLY did not make the shirts herself. I then complained with the factory since this is a factory in Malta, not in America, like Nike. I sincerely think that if I complain to Nike in America for a Nike that I bought in Malta I would have been more satisfied with their response, rather than not having a reply at all.

Last year in June I ordered two skirts for my daughters and when they finally arrived as agreed I was called to go to pick them(after of course waiting an hour behind the queue) . I payed and when I got home I realized that they were boys' shorts not girls' skirts. So I went back stayed again behind the queue only to be told that they had no skirts and will not have before November!! The extremely rude sales girl just told me to inform the head of school that my daughters have no uniforms and they will be wearing something else. After saying this she just gave me my money back and proceeded with the next customer...... Of course I was furious ... went to speak to the management and beleive it or not next day I had the skirts. I have always wondered why the salesgirl had decided to tell me they had no uniforms when in fact they did !! Eagle K wear has the dirtiest shop, rudest sales girls and their uniforms are nice only for a week or two !!

I once complained to them about 2 shirts I bought for my son's uniform, and they did not even bother to reply. The buttons went off as soon as I opened both shirts, bcz of the thread that was so loose.

Dear Mrs. Formosa
Did you try complaining where you bought the shirts? That is where you should go first (and he may then go back to his supplier). Otherwise I should be complaining to Nike in America if my new shoes break (no, I don't mean to be funny at your expense - I just mean to illustrate the point).

When i tried to contact them to buy a uniform for my kid,who attends st thomas moore m scala, the only answer they gave me is to contact a shop in m scala, and on doing so,the shop told me that this type of uniforms were out of stock from this company. So this investment might solve the problem?

HOW FUNNY FIRST WE SAY THAT THE TEXTILE AND MANUFACTRING INDUSTRIES ARE PAST THEIR TIME IN MALTA, THEN WHEN SUCH TALK IS PROVED WRONG, INSTEAD OF HAVING MINISTERS RESIGNING FOR SUCH HAZARDOUS WORDS , WE HAVE MINISTERS REJOICING. FOOLS PARADISE ??????

WELL YOU KNOW, JOSEPH MUSCAT AND THE PL ADVISED US TO VOTE AGAINST JOINING EUROPE AND NOT ONLY DID HE NOT RESIGN BUT YOU VOTED HIM AS LEADER. NOT ONLY DID NOT THE PL APOLOGISE, BUT SAID, JEKK HEKK JRIDU MELA NACCETTAW. YOU SEE, 90% OF WHAT WAS SAID ABOUT THE TEXTILE INDUSTRY WAS TRUE, THEY CLOSED DOWN, THE OTHER 10% WILL CLOSE DOWN IN THE YEARS TO COME, FOR THE SIMPLE REASON THAT OUR WAGES ARE NOT COMPETITIVE WHEN COMPARED WITH NORTH AFRICA, THE MIDDLE EAST, THE FAR EAST ETC.. PRODUCTION IS COSTLY WHEN COMPARED TO THOSE. WE AWAIT WITH EAGERNESS YOUR CALL TO JOE MUSCAT, THE INCUMBANT LABOUR LEADER TO RESIGN TO RISKING MALTA'S ACCESSION TO THE EU AND FOR BEING PART TO THE INCREDIBLE LIES BY THE ML/PL AGAINST MALTA JOINING THE EU.

Nahseb qed tghid nofs verita li jaqbillek Gauci.
Il- Pagi vera ghljijn, pero il kwalita ahjar ukoll. Pero aparti il- pagi ghandek il utility expenses, li kif gew issa huma gholla mil pagi, f'settur li jikonma daqshekk energija.
U BTW mil- kummenti li hawn haw taht ma tantx jidher li qed jghamlu xi prodott ta barra min haw. aparti l-aroganza. Haga li qatt ma fhimt hi kif l-uniku hanut li ghandhom jinsab f'post min fejn lanqas tal- linja ma jghaddu!! ghalija mhux it tort taghom dan, ghax kieku min ghamel it tender kien serju haga bhall din kinet tkun wahda mir rekwiziti, mqar hanut f'belt centrali.

Lanqas naf jekk jien qieghed nghid nofs verita` jew int tbghati biex tifhem l-ingliz "PRODUCTION IS COSTLY WHEN COMPARED TO THOSE". Sa fejn naf jien production cost ser tinkludi kollox; mano d'opera, overheads, indirect u direct. Ovjament skond xil-management accountant jiddecidi huwa cost to production jew le, pero in fin dei conti, mil listess but ser johrogg.
Tghid ghadu jaghmel sense li tiftah fabbrika tat-tessuti fl-Ingilterra jew Franza ghax irhas u ahjar min Malta u Tunis? Logika stramba, le? Forsi ghadek ma ndunajtx li d-dinja miexja (mxiet propja) biex l-production tmur f'postijiet fejn it-total producton cost huwa baxx.
Jekk qed tahseb li l-Malti biss kapaci jaghmel kwalita, ghadek tghix fil-passat.
PS. il-Kummenti fuq Eagle K ma jinterresawnhiex. Ma nighiex mil-management ta hemm. Jekk qed jsiru allegazzjonijiet li il-kumpanija mhix serja, mhux tort tieghi, le? Once bitten suppost twice shy jghidu, hu flusek fejn tihu l-maximum benefit. Jekk ma ghandekx ghazla, petition kull ma tmur fin-nofs, ma l-awtoritajiet ta l-iskejjel.

Prosit Alex! Following the footsteps of your father! Keep it up! I also suggest you open a retail outlet supplying local customers directly with your products, after all like other factories in textiles do.

i quite agree with was said by zarb. uniforms are not as expensive as one would expect a uniform to be but the material is horrible. my son attends st thomas more college and although the colour scheme is really nice the uniform is not. i had to replace last year's uniform even though it still fit him. it became full of fluff even after i hand washed it and the arrogance of the salespersons is indescribable

Should we start expecting better quality uniforms ??? Uniforms for children attending KG in St. Ignatius College can only be bought from this company. They're fine at first sight but after the first wash they get full of fluff. Many parents and school councils complained with the college principal and the company itself but to no avail. As they say in Maltese "baqa' f'wiccna". As far as I know (and I know quite a bit on this) whenever goods offered by tender are not of the required quality they have to be replaced. What happened in this case ? Nothing. This year we have the same uniforms and the same supplier. Where are the authorities ?

That is good to hear, maybe they invest in a telephone operator as yesterday spent over 30 mins to get in touch with them over the phone to enquire about a school uniform, and still did not get a positive answer.
