Is there an explanation as to why the silver proof coin, Auberge d’Italia, recently issued by Central Bank of Malta with a face value of €10 is being sold for €44 when a similar commemorative silver proof coin, being issued this month by the Bank of Ireland, with a face value of €15 (50 per cent more value), is being sold for €36 (18 per cent less) when both coins have the same characteristics? Weight 28.28g; sterling silver fineness .925 Ag and diameter 38.61mm.
The only slight difference is the issue limit, where the Irish is limited to 15,000 coins and the Maltese limit is 12,500 coins. Both coins were minted by the Royal Dutch Mint.
