Actions do speak louder than words
On corruption, actions speak louder than words. I refer of course to the sudden flurry of letters which appeared yesterday praising the Prime Minister on corruption. How can anyone but the diehards of the Nationalist Party take these letters seriously?...

I refer of course to the sudden flurry of letters which appeared yesterday praising the Prime Minister on corruption. How can anyone but the diehards of the Nationalist Party take these letters seriously? Nobody but those who have a vested interest believe Lawrence Gonzi is really tackling corruption. Corruption is now viewed as the leitmotif of this shameful Administration.
After all the inactivity on the BWSC case, the conflicts of interest, and the report of the Auditor General that didn’t even encourage this government into action, how can anyone believe corruption is now to be taken seriously?
Most significant of all, how is Finance Minister Tonio Fenech still in place when there are statements alleging he had works done in his home as a favour. This is an allegation he hasn’t even had the courage to fight in our courts. A far, far cry from how Dr Gonzi reacted to John Dalli, for example. Yes, actions speak much much louder than words.
