Andrew Main Wilson, chief operating officer of the Institute of Directors worldwide said the IoD will be advocating the benefits it believes Malta has to offer British business, particularly as part of UK business risk management. The IoD, he said, considers Malta as a low business risk.
Mr Main Wilson was in Malta for a three-day fact-finding visit during which he was hosted by James Satariano, chairman of Institute of Directors Malta Branch.
“Mr Main Wilson was very impressed by the dynamic and diversified Maltese economy, the quick access provided to key stakeholders and the energy with which opportunities in several industries have been developed,” an IoD Malta statement said.
During his visit Mr Main Wilson met Lawrence Gonzi and Tonio Fenech, as well as the chairman of the MFSA Joe Bannister, the chairman of Malta Enterprise Alan Camilleri, the chairman and CEO of the Malta Stock Exchange Arthur Galea Salomone, the Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, the Environment and Culture Mario De Marco and the heads of key commercial organisations including the directors of the Corinthia Group of Companies, Crimsonwing Ltd., the HSBC Call Centre, Bulebel Industrial Estate and Toly Products.
Joseph Zammit Tabona, Malta’s High Commissioner in the UK was responsible for coordinating Mr. Main Wilson’s visit to Malta.
