Bank of Valletta’s board has confirmed chief executive officer Tonio Depasquale for a further period until December 31, 2011. Michael Galea who was most recently executive head for card services, has been appointed chief officer, operations. He succeeds Igino Xuereb, who retired on October 1, after 41 years’ service with the bank. Albert Frendo has been appointed chief officer, credit, in succession to John Soler, who will retire on December 1, after 42 years’ service. Mr Galea and Mr Frendo have also been appointed to the bank’s executive committee.
