Updated: President visiting Romania

President George Abela this morning embarked on a state visit to Romania. On his arrival, he was welcomed by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Auresco, and the Ambassador of Romania Razvan Rusu.

Later this evening, President and Mrs. Abela will attend a reception held in honour of the accompanying Maltese Business Delegation.

He is accompanied by Mrs Abela, Foreign Minister Tonio Borg, Malta's ambassador for Romania Anthony Miceli Demajo and a business delegation .

Former Speaker Anton Tabone is Acting President.

President and Mrs Abela return to Malta on Friday evening.
