The Pietà local council has in hand an agreement of concession from the Lands Department to operate the multi-storey car park built adjacent to St Luke’s Hospital. In the next few days the council would be issuing a call for expressions of interest for the car park’s upkeep.

Answering a parliamentary question by Stefan Buontempo (PL), the Prime Minister said that even before taking the concession, the council had already taken steps for a clean-up of the place and had had a “substantial amount” of waste removed.

Dr Buontempo had commented that the car park was filthy and overrun by rodents.
