Former Birkirkara winger Sylvano Comvalius has joined Stirling Albion on a short-term deal.
Comvalius, who played a prominent role in Birkirkara’s title-winning campaign last season, made his debut for Stirling Albion on Saturday after completing his switch to the Scottish Division One club the day before. He came on as a substitute after 69 minutes as Stirling Albion won 2-0 away to Raith Rovers.
According to reports, Comvalius had other offers but opted for a move which could prove mutually beneficial, giving the 23-year-old the chance to make his mark in Scotland while improving Albion’s attacking options.
The Dutch winger-cum-forward established himself as a key player in his first year with Birkirkara last season but his campaign was punctuated by a couple of trips to Antalya where he had trials with Russian club Spartak Nalchik.
Comvalius had a year left on his deal with Birkirkara but the two parties agreed to rescind the contract this summer.
