Austria will be without their most experienced defender Emanuel Pogatetz for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Belgium.

The 27-year-old, who has 39 caps, tore a muscle in his left leg during his club Hanover’s 1-0 defeat at home to St Pauli in the German Bundesliga on Friday.

Austria host Azerbaijan in Vienna on October 8 before travelling to Brussels to take on Belgium four days later.

Austria coach Dietmar Constantini has not yet called up a replacement for Pogatetz.
