• The German-Maltese Circle is celebrating German Unification Day today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. St Christopher Street, between Merchants Street and Republic Street, will host more than 30 vintage cars manufactured in Germany in a static show. A brass ensemble will play for the occasion. Circle’s Bar and Coffee Shop will be serving German food and beverages. Messina Palace will be open to the public and an exhibition by 40 German and Maltese children depicting their perception of the Fall of the Berlin Wall will be officially inaugurated.

• The 14th annual St Augustine lecture will be given by Dr Paul van Geest from the Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, on November 12 at 7 p.m. at the University’s Gateway Building, Lecture Hall E. The topic is ‘The incomprehensibility of God as cause of concern. Augustine as a negative theologian and the merging of orthodoxy’. Prof. Joe Friggieri will chair the lecture.
