Rooftop garden a potential eyesore

I was recently holidaying in Marsascala, not far from where the Etvan project, with its rooftop garden, is to be built.

I found it rather odd to build in this area and then have public gardens on top. I do not think it would be practical at all. I for one would not consider living there, being apprehensive of the quiet location being spoilt. It may even go the other way and become a white elephant.

Many of these ideas look great on paper but are not realistic in practice. There is also the upkeep to be considered, and if not regularly tended this could end up being considered an eyesore by the residents who take pride in their surroundings.
