The Med’s biggest catamaran
Virtu Ferries’ brand new flagship catamaran, the Jean de la Valette, will start operating on the company’s Malta-Sicily route next Monday. It will be the largest high-speed catamaran operating in the Mediterranean and the fifth largest in the world. It can carry 800 passengers, 156 cars and can cross from Malta to Pozzallo in 90 minutes or Malta to Catania in three hours.

Well done to Virtu Ferries, on a beautiful catamaran. It may be noted that a piece of malta has returned home as my son in law is a boiler maker with Austal here in Henderson where the shipyard is located , so he was really proud that a ship this size was going home to our beloved Island , and the name is befitting such a beautiful craft .
Good luck to VIRTU FERRIES for a outstanding job for bringing her home to malta .

What a beautiful catamaran and well done for getting to Malta in one piece! I read the article about the journey. I would love it to go to Trapani in Sicily, not for the tuna fish, but to connect with the flights to and from Stansted airport in England. It would be an easier way to get to Malta for a lot of people who live nearer to Stansted than any of the other airports. I often watch the Virtu Ferries catamarans leave and arrive at the Grand Harbour by watching the webcam on the www.visitmalta.com website. Well it's another way of seeing bright blue sky and sea when one is miles away. Today in Cambridge we have heavy rain and the sky and everything else is grey. Well done Virtu Ferries! :-)

Well done; can you also please provide a service to Syracuse. It has been far too long going to the same two places and most people would love to go elsewhere also.

Well done virtu! Please why dont you think of doing the Tunisia Route at the La Goullete Harbour. I have a second home in Gammarth Tunisia and have to Drive from Pozzallo to Palermo and take the Grandi Navi Veloci Ship to Tunisia. And trust me, if Virtu manage to secure a Tunisia Route, the demand will be surprising!

Why don't Virtu Ferries open other routes and not Sicily only? I suggest for instance Tunisia and Greece which are very near!

Well done Virtu. A maltese company who always gave its clients a superb service is once again investing in providing even greater crossings and access to the rest of europe. Malta should be proud of such maltese companies and should have our greatest admiration and support. Full marks goes for all your crew both at offices and on board who i on behalf of thousands who travel on your catamaran find to be of a big assett to your company. Good luck .
