Low pay for females

According to statistics, Malta has the lowest number of female employees across Europe.

I believe that the majority of these women are the ones who have not achieved a high standard of education.

In my daily contacts with women, I perceived that the female participation rate is so low because the basic wage is far from encouraging. A part-time worker is paid the basic rate of €4 an hour. Considering time and travel expenses, the sacrifices far outweigh the benefits.

Imagine a mother of three having to leave the family on Sunday in order to receive such a pittance! Small wonder!
