To celebrate this first anniversary there will be free wine-tasting sessions at the shop this weekend, with patrons being offered samplings of the new 2009 vintage Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon on the house. Fans of the wine, that is released under the Jubilee Foods label, will be able to welcome the new Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, boasting a dry but very well-balanced bouquet, with floral and slightly spicy hints. The wine, which is good to drink immediately, will also be available for sale from all Jubilee Foods outlets.
“It has been a year since we introduced the concept of traditional, artisan food to the local market thanks to the first Jubilee Foods shop. Since then, the number of Jubilee Foods shops has continued increasing and clients now have access to our range of foodstuffs at different food outlets.
Jubilee Foods, which is brand extension of Café Jubilee, was born with the idea of offering people the possibility of enjoying the Jubilee experience even while relaxing at home.
The Jubilee Foods shops offer a range of Mediterranean or traditional, wholesome and hand-made artisan foodstuffs prepared from fresh produce. The food takes the culinary experience back to traditional roots, using natural and fresh ingredients with no additives. The shops are also well-known for seasonal specialties – at the moment the Lampuki Pie is proving to be highly popular.
“The launch of Jubilee Foods shops filled a void in the market, satisfying those who have always been fans of the Jubilee brand. Products include a selection of traditional Maltese and Gozitan dishes whose recipes have been handed down from generation to generation,” general manager Ruth Camilleri said.
Ready to cook items on the list include the famous Nanna’s Ravjoli, the rice and pumpkin pie, steak and dark ale, and cheeslet and broad bean pies while the selection of desserts offer walnut and almond & marmalade tarts, and pumpkin cake.
There is also a small range of Jubilee wines, Italian olive oils and aromatic coffee sourced from South America.
All Jubilee Foods branded products have been certified and the packaging carries extensive dietary and cooking information.
