Booking a holiday is bewildering for many Britons, according to a survey.
As many as 58 per cent of holidaymakers are perplexed by the booking process and take months to decide on a destination, a poll of 6,000 people by price comparison site Confused.com showed.
Nearly three in five cannot decide what to pack in their suitcases and 69 per cent are unsure about the correct baggage allowance.
More than 40 per cent admit to regretting their destination decision, while 90 per cent have little idea how to communicate with the locals abroad.
The survey also revealed that more than four in five have trouble ordering food and translating menus while away and 75 per cent get concerned about what tips to leave.
In addition, 42 per cent are not sure how much time to allow before a flight and have little idea about when to arrive at the airport.
Kelly Davies, from Confused.com, said: “We spend all year planning for and anticipating our holiday, yet our research has shown they are sometimes far from being filled with relaxation and peace of mind.
“Planning ahead is the key to dealing with these issues.”
