A court case against a man who allegedly banged the head of his estranged wife against a wall was dropped today after the wife opted not to give evidence against him.
The woman had told the police on August 17, 2006 she had had an argument with her husband in his office and he had banged her head against a wall, causing injuries to her nose. The argument was over business.
The man when questioned by the police said he had 'lost control' after the woman threw a bunch of keys at him. He also produced CCTV footage of the incident.
In court, the woman twice opted not to give evidence against the man, even though they had since separated.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera said that in view of the woman's decision not to give evidence and to withdraw the complaint, the court could not take further action and she declared the proceedings exhausted.
