Lack of eco-contribution refunds discriminatory - GreenPak

Green Dot Malta, operators of the largest waste recovery scheme in Malta (GreenPak) have expressed regret that no refunds on past eco contribution payments were in sight.

It said in a statement that although the government recently released its stranglehold on eco contributions by granting exemptions to those companies that were funding recycling, these refunds were still lacking.

This, it said, led to discrimination against those bona fede legitimate operators who had been funding recycling and fulfilling all their packaging waste obligations for the past four years.
