News directors for Island Caterers

Raphael Cauchi, Ernest Barry and Kenneth Abela have been appointed to the Board of Directors of Island Caterers ltd. The three are all senior executives within Island Hotels Group Holdings plc. Mr Cauchi and Mr Barry are the general managers at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands and the Radisson Blu Resort, St. Julians respectively while Mr Abela is the chief financial officer of the Group.

Mr Barry, who joins the board as a non-executive director, has over the last 20 years held a number of positions within Island Hotels Group including the posts of general manager of the Coastline Hotel and has, for the last five years, occupied the same position at the Radisson Blu Resort, St. Julian’s.

Mr Abela, who also joins the board in a non-executive capacity joined Island Hotels Group in 1990 and has since held a number of different positions within the finance structure of the group as it developed. He was appointed Group financial controller in 1999 and promoted to chief financial officer when the Group went public in October 2009.

Mr Cauchi takes on the role of executive director on the board, leading operations of the revitalised Island Caterers. Mr. Cauchi joined Island Hotels Group in 1996 prior to the opening of the Radisson Blu Resort, St. Julian’s as Food and Beverage Manager. He went on to hold a number of positions within the company including general manager of the St. Julian’s property. In 2004 Mr Cauchi was appointed general manager of the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands. As an executive director, he will be overseeing the day to day operations as well as the growth strategies for Island Caterers.
