A relative of a prison inmate was yesterday caught smuggling a small amount of drugs during visiting hours after he gave himself away by acting strangely, sources said.
The 33-year-old man was in the prison visitors’ area at about 3 p.m. when warders noticed he was squirming, walking in a strange way and “scratching his backside”.
This suspicious behaviour spurred the officers to search the man and they allegedly found a small sachet of drugs, probably heroin, hidden in his anal crevice. Prison staff handed the man over to the police.
