The GWU has denied that it ever reached any agreement with Enemalta on the transfer of workers in the Credit Control section to other sections of the corporation.

Referring to a statement issued yesterday by Enemalta, the union said talks were still in progress and it was awaiting a date for their continuation.

Until agreement was reached, no movement of workers would be accepted, the union said.

It also denied that the workers in the Credit Control section had accepted alternative duties. On the contrary, it was the workers who had asked the union to intervene on their behalf after feeling betrayed by the corporation, the union said.

Furthermore, the GWU said, these workers could not be transferred to Arms Ltd since this had stopped all talks with the union.
