The Malta Medical Students’ Association (MMSA) is organising an event to celebrate World Heart Day at Bay Street Complex, St Julian’s, today between 3.30 and 7 p.m.

The event aims to increase awareness on the risk factors of heart disease and stroke and also show how one can reduce these risk factors.

The MMSA will be providing blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose monitoring and Body Mass Index monitoring.

Students will also be giving tips on how to improve one’s lifestyle and suggesting ways to reduce risk factors in the workplace, tying in with the World Heart Federation’s theme for the day, ‘workplace wellness’.

A tobacco awareness outreach exercise is also going to take place to encourage a tobacco-free lifestyle and environment.
