Alternattiva Demokratika has called on the authorities to release a copy of studies commissioned by the Finance Ministry proposing the introduction of a carbon tax that was mentioned in the pre-budget document.

AD spokesman for sustainable development and local government Carmel Cacopardo said a public consultation deprived of studies justifying the policy proposals was nothing but an organised farce.

The AD spokesman made his request to the Malta Environment and Planning Authority as the organisation responsible for the studies.
