Video: Mark Zammit Cordina
A sneak peak of the backstage areas for Elton John's second concert in Malta on the Granaries in Floriana tomorrow.
The British singer has sold more than 250 million albums and produced classic songs like Daniel, Your Song and Candle in the Wind.
This time, he will be performing with percussionist Ray Cooper in what is expected to be a massive concert, organised by NNG Promotions.
Knighted in 1998, Sir Elton has been heavily involved in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s. He has won five Grammy awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and a Tony Award.
Ray Cooper is an English musician. He is a session and road-tour percussionist, and occasional actor, who worked with Pink Floyd, Sting, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Elton John.
Domestica are providing Sir Elton with all his furniture needs while in Malta.

Reading the other contribution on Elton John, it confirms that the mental state to which the audience is affected by rhythm and movements, they are excited to a level of fantasy and trances equalled only by meditation, and the rhythmic drums of a primitive tribe. In Europe Elton John does retain a little calibre in his style equivalent to the classy disciplined styles of Straus, Maria Callas and Tito Gobbi or Caruso, Beethoven ,Verdi etc, but I am now afraid that RAP undisciplined music are intoxicating out youths to an undisciplined level due to the effects of Paceville and other entertaining places in Malta. The same goes for attire, dancing and manners. I am sure that if Elton John and other entertainers, if they had to come to Malta to enter politics, then if they perform their entertaining stint rather than a political speech full of promises, I am sure that while in such a trance as described in, “ Elton John delights the fans”, he would make it to president or prime minister anytime he likes. Such is the effect of entertainment.

Once my brothers and I took our wives to a night club to be entertained,as in spite of what I say, some entertainment, make up,dressing up,etc, is good medicinal drug if taken in approprietely. Well, the setting in the nightclub was aided by a lot of advertising companies for the performing HYPNOTIST in this night club was of international fame!! it happened that this hypnotist called my younger brother over on the stage to help him in his performance, This Hypnotist tried hard and hard and hard to hypnotise my brother. He tried again and again. Eventually in front of everybody, the hypnotist told my brother, " Would you please return to your seat as you have such a stong mind, that I cannot get through to you!" and so my brother returned to his seat where we ignored the famed hypnotist and proceeded with our conversations. Magicians do the same, it is no magic, it is a form of drug to entertain people.
Recently I noticed that in Malta we have goneBIG in asking performers to come over!! Foreign entertainers are better than ours and the greater the distance of his country from Malta , the greater is the expert entertainer/ trafficer!

MoreDRUG for the peblei!I find it interesting that through the ages, people need this drug for entertainment!TheRomans did it at theColiseum, theChurch did it in festas with fireworks and statues, the Spanish do it by killing bulls,we seem to do it by excessive noise, excessive flickering contrasting colours, body rythm and movements that intoxicate the brain,to let it roam into fantacyland, some undressing their bodies to the least attire to show tattoos, added emmpenage to the body. Once I attended a " church " in England and the master of ceremonies was a MassHypnotist who amaised me at his tatics with people. He got them to swing to a rythmn, slowly at first then raising the pace in chosen periods till a crescendo was reached and all of them were confessing their sins, rolling on the floor, undressing like the last performer in Malta throwing himself on to the audience. I stood quiet watching all these antics when, The Master of ceremony's eyes caught mine, he came over, telling me that "You are not one of us are you , you are a Christian?" He offended me so colourfully! Harmful Drug is all over!Camouflaged and Included subtily in all ARTS in class.

Yesterday when I wrote about the effect of the subtle social drug at Paceville on our youth, one commentator tried to ridicule me, to take the micky out of me, by making a funny comment. I lived through this before and no doubt will have to keep on living through it.
Be the occassion, Elton John, Paceville, Church festas and fireworks, Political meeting, Tv commmercials, Bullfighting,Coliseums, even air shows as yesterday, people seem to need to see something spectacular. Yesterday I enjoyed the air show but the part where a pilot dares to lose his life by flying upside down is not necessary in my case. However it appears that it is necessary for the youngpilot and those who " dares him to do it". Serenity of mind is misinterpreted as, monotony of mind, in certain unintelligent people and the peblei in most countries need to be entertained in a fashion that suits them best. I never understood why soldiers and sailors have fifferent latrines and toilets from commanding staff and officers. Well yeterday at the airshow I did use a toilet and Things have not changed in Malta. We are far from reaping real officer material from our public.

And since when is the Catholic Institute in Floriana used for such things? I sincerely hope that the organisers leave a very hefty donation to help the Institute with its works and activities.

Point 1. Mr. Callus. If in doubt you have the option of buying your sofa somewhere else.
Point 2. It seems you don't know much about advertising.
Point 3. After tonight I would give anything to have that sofa in my lounge.

Well done to Domestica. I am sure Sir Elton will be a happy man, sitting comfortably in those pristine white Nicoletti sofas in the beautiful ambience of Kartell lighting.
Goes to show that many Maltese family businesses can make it to service top international brands and artists. Proud of you.

Such concerts should be held indoors and not in the open-air.

I hope all is set with lighting up the Floriana Parish again :)
After all even the "Istitut Kattoliku" seems to be "collaborating" in such events!
