Team Greens recently took part in the Sicilian Time-Trial Championships. The race consisted of two laps around a racing circuit in Syracuse over a distance of 10.7 km.

Over 110 riders from all over Sicily took on the challenge. The Team Greens riders had an excellent showing, claiming two podium finishes.

Marie Claire Aquilina was second in the ladies’ race, finishing just two seconds behind winner Lucia Asero. Malta’s time-trial champion Etienne Bonello placed third in his category and eighth overall.

Bonello finished the race in 14’27”, averaging over 44 km per hour.

The other Team Greens riders who figured in the Sicilian Time-Trial Championships were Jason Vella, Peter Gatt, Christopher Gatt, Gerard Said and James Mifsud. Charles Sammut was the team manager.
