A Maltese man who admitted to slightly injuring a British one was conditionally discharged for six months after he apologised and his apology was accepted.
Joseph Coleiro, 49, of St Paul’s Bay, who is in charge of sunbeds and deckchairs at Ghajn Tuffieha Bay, was also accused of provoking British 68-year-old Michael Hide and his 33-year-old Belorussian wife Katsiaryna to fight with stones, disturbing the public peace and insulting the couple.
The couple pleaded not guilty to similar charges.
Mr Coleiro’s defence lawyers Charmaine Cherrett and Franco Debono said her client was willing to apologise to the British couple and he was also withdrawing his claims against them. The couple were, in turn, accepting the apology.
