A policeman salutes Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi as he alights from an electric vehicle he used instead of his official car to go to his office at the Auberge de Castille, in Valletta, yesterday being Car Free Day, an international green initiative encouraging alternative means of transport. The public, especially government employees, were encouraged to either share a car, use public transport, cycle or walk to work. Some followed the message; others were oblivious to it.
