John Hookman Frere’s Maltese garden is the theme of a public talk Jo Tyndale Biscoe will give in mid-October as part of the autumn lectures organised by Din l-Art Ħelwa.

Ms Tyndale Biscoe will focus on her memories of her grandparent’s beautiful garden in Pietà, “sadly lost for Malta but all captured in her book A Lost Maltese Garden – John Hookham Frere’s Masterpiece, in the words of a DLĦ spokesman. The book is illustrated with its poignant family photographs, memories and reminiscences.

The lecture will be held on October 14.

George Camilleri speaks on Architectural Awards In Malta 1936 – 1939 on November 11 and Every Picture Tells A Story is the top of the lecture Simone Mizzi will deliver on December 9. She will illustrate the historical and pictorial anecdotes that inspired the Heritage Saved Watercolour Collection and their Limited Edition prints by Kenneth Zammit Tabona.

All lectures start at 6 p.m. at DLĦ’s premises in Valletta.
