A 60-year-old man from Msida has been conditionally discharged after admitting that he gave orders or assisted in the issue of false VRT certificates.

Carmel Chircop admitted to having committed the crime on and before October 13, 2009. As a result certificates were issued to vehicles which had not undergone the VRT test.

The court noted that the accused had admitted his involvement in the earliest stage of proceedings. He was conditionally discharged for two years.
