An aircraft leaves the bright moon in its wake last night.

That means: The aircraft is heading away from the bright moon ... It does not say at the aircraft is taking off!

The caption doesn't say the plane is leaving Malta.

That photo was taken after the plane took off from the moon.

C Cassar, tomorrow, go to the store and buy some sense of humour :))

I think C. Cassar mistook "leaves the bright moon" with "leaves the bright islands of Malta", plausible when considering the state of the roads. Oh the humour!
