Smart City Malta has issued the tender for the construction of four new buildings, signalling the start of a new phase.
Adjacent to SCM01 and forming part of the Lagoon District, the new construction will include two office buildings, SCM02 and SCM03, and two retail buildings, SCM04 and SCM05. The launch of the lagoon area is timed to coincide with the completion of the new building complex.
The new buildings, and subsequent phases, can easily connect to the primary infrastructure put in place during the first phase.
Arranged as an interconnected cluster, the architecture massing of the buildings is coordinated to provide knowledge workers with panoramic lagoon views and maximum exposure to natural lighting.
This new phase of development ushers in the latest product offering from Smart City Malta comprising the retail buildings SCM04 and SCM05.
Designed as a multi-level, open-air esplanade, the retail spaces will house food and beverage outlets as well as retail shops and boutiques, all of which are a few steps away from the lagoon. Lush, terraced rooftops create the ideal setting for dining and recreation activities.
Smart City Malta CEO Fareed Abdulrahman said, “We have started working on the new phase because of the interest generated for SCM01. New products are being created for a wider range of organisations and service providers, which we could not cater for in Phase one.”
