Bondholders of Midi plc were last week invited to an evening tour of the key landmarks at Tigné Point. Measuring some 30 acres, this forms part of the €450 million Midi project, the largest and most ambitious mixed use development in Malta.

From the white streamlined structure of the Belvedere bridge, hundreds of Midi bondholders and their guests were shown the restored Fort Manoel and the baroque buildings across the water in Valletta.

Guided by Midi hosts, guests proceeded along the landscaped walkway that delineates the south littoral of the Tigné peninsula towards the clubhouse – a complex that is already much-sought after by food lovers attracted to the culinary delights offered by Salini and The Chophouse.

The next stop was Fort Tigné. The iconic Sliema fort was the last one to be built in Malta by the Knights of St John and is currently undergoing extensive restoration to become a centre for cultural and commercial activity. Eager guests then walked back up to Sliema’s largest open square – the 2,500sqm Pjazza Tigné.

After a quick stroll around the vibrant and stylish shopping mall The Point, bondholders viewed the plans for the north side of the peninsula, where an additional series of luxury apartments, a second public piazza and a business centre are to be built.
