A stalker who has already spent two years in jail for harassing his former girlfriend is behind bars again, this time for four years after the presiding magistrate brought into force two previous suspended jail terms.
This was the fifth time that Massimo Tivisini, 42, of Pietà, found himself in court and admitted to harassing and stalking his girlfriend, apart from a plethora of charges.
He was jailed for a year for driving dangerously, damaging her car, breaking her mobile phone, threatening her, assaulting her, threatening to use violence against her and harassing her.
He also admitted to insulting her, breaching the peace, relapsing, committing a crime during the operative period of a suspended jail term and breaching the conditions of a probationary period.
Adding the one-year jail term with two previous suspended jail terms, adding up to three years, brought the total amount of jail time to four years.
Police Inspector Sandra Zammit prosecuted.
