A bag containing cash was stolen this afternoon when two men attacked a woman as she came out of her car, the police said.

The attack took place at Triq ix-Xehda, San Pawl tat-Targa, at 6 p.m.

The woman had just parked her BMW and was coming out of the vehicle when she was assaulted by the two men, one of whom was armed with a tool. They took a bag which was in her car and escaped in a Toyota Corolla.

The police said the haul was 'considerable'.
