Richard Spiteri, also known as Raquela, 39 of Valletta, today pleaded not guilty after having been accused in court of soliciting for prostitution and threatening three police women and a policeman.

The case allegedly took place in Marsa yesterday.

The accused also denied having thrown a packet of cigarettes which contained a syringe while under arrest at Marsa police station.

Police Inspector Graziella Muscat said the accused had tried to stop them performing their duties.

Bail was granted against a personal guarantee of €500 and the accused was ordered not to go to Marsa or Gzira.

Dr Franco Debono and Dr Charmaine Cherrett were defence counsel.
