Obituary
BRIFFA. On September 13, CHARLES (ex Cargo-Handling Official and ITF Inspector), aged 65, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Margot née Muscat, his sons Nikolai and his girlfriend Nicola, Kristjan and his wife Michaela, Karl and his girlfriend Jeanelle, his sister Lina Cachia, his brothers Vince and Tony and their respective wives Markia and Rita, his in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday at 1.30 p.m. for San Ġwann parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be held at 2 p.m. Donations to the Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
GALEA. On September 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Rabat (ex-Mace Bearer at Mdina Cathedral), aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children MaryJo and her husband Joe Cassar, residing in Canada, Michael and his wife Anna, his grandchildren Jonathan, Vanessa, Maris, and Charlene, his sisters and brothers, Mananni, Ċikka, Pawlu and his wife Mary, Mary and her husband Paul Buhagiar, Karmena, widow of his brother Kelinu, Carmelo and his wife Hilda, residing in Australia, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.30 a.m. for Mdina Cathedral where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
MERCIECA. On September 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEN, née Zammit, at the age of 73, from Senglea, passed on to eternal life, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Beloved in life and cherished in death by her husband Charles, her daughter Anna, her son Michael and his wife Christine, née Micallef, her grandchildren Julia, Matthew, Sarah and Jonathan, her brother Vincent and his wife Rachelle, her sisters Vicky and her husband Walter Spiteri, Dolores and her husband Victor Cristina, her in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for the Basilica of Our Lady of Victories, Senglea, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the The Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, or Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

St Paul’s Bay sub post office
The sub post office at Paul’s Arcade, Kaħli Street, St Paul’s Bay will be closed for business between September 16 and 18, both days included.
During this closure the public will be able to use the St Paul’s Bay branch in Xama Alley, St Paul’s Bay.
