A 79-year-old man fell to his death yesterday evening as he was climbing onto his neighbour’s roof.

The incident occurred in St Nicholas Street, Sliema at around 6 p.m. Police sources said the man was attempting to get onto his neighbour’s roof when he lost his balance and fell a height of about one storey. An ambulance rushed him to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries soon after.

Duty magistrate Clare Stafrace Zammit appointed a number of court experts to assist her in an inquiry. The police are investigating.
