Norman E. Grech continues (September 4) his crusade against Malta’s highest honour: The award of the George Cross. I do not intend to add further to what I wrote about the George Cross in my previous letters to The Times. I only want to correct Mr Grech about the foreign king he mentions in his letter. Malta was under British rule at the time and King George was our king, so to speak. As regards his last comment “what a shame”, in my opinion, the shame is on Mr Grech.
