A court this morning cleared the way for the eviction of a small filling station from St James Ditch, Valletta, after it revoked a temporary warrant of prohibitory injunction issued last month.

Sammut Service Station, which mostly services the buses, had requested the warrant to stop eviction.

The government's property division argued that the land was being occupied illegally, and it was needed for the City Gate project and the re-location of the bus terminus.

In a sitting this morning, the court concluded that the petrol station owner had produced no proof of title over the land and repealed the temporary warrant.
