Salvu Felice Pace keeps travelling in his own mind (August 11). This time he blames newspaper reports for the mythical “Mintoff manifesto” he claims was the basis for Dom Mintoff’s decision to run for Labour in the 1996 election. No such thing existed whatever Mr Felice Pace, who obviously has scant regard to facts, keeps trying to make readers believe.

Mr Felice Pace owes readers an apology for misguiding them again, now more so after I made clear the facts surrounding that decision.

It surprises me also to see The Times hanging on to a tale which resides only in the imagination of a self-confessed Nationalist Party spin doctor. (The author is a former Labour MP.)
