Gozo fireworks victims' funerals postponed

The funerals of the six Gozo fireworks explosion victims have been postponed because of delays in the release of the bodies.

Sources said there were 'complications' when the first autopsies were held this morning and DNA tests will have to be made.

A spokesman for two of the families confirmed the postponement.

Jean Pierre Azzopardi, was due to be buried tomorrow at Xewkija, with the joint funeral of the other five victims following on Saturday afternoon in Fontana.

The Prekursur Band, which was to have taken part in tomorrow's funeral, confirmed on its website that the funeral had been put off.
