The art of folding napkins

The art of folding napkins -- from simple lotuses and swans to grand table-top ornaments and headpieces -- is the topic of a new exhibit at the Imperial Furniture Collection in Vienna, "Folded Beauty,"which opened yesterday.

Inspired by the historic creations of Europe's royal and imperial courts, these 100 pieces are the work of Catalan artist Joan Sallas, who spent three months folding linen for the exposition.
