Citadel puts together a CSR programme

Citadel Insurance has put together a corporate social responsibility programme aimed at supporting the local community and sustaining the environment. The company has opted to help various entities including charitable institutions and individuals who are in need of support.

Citadel recently pledged its support to Edward Aquilina who swam between the Maltese islands in aid of Caritas Malta. It also presented an award to the “Stepping Out Programme” of the Equal Partners Foundation which helps autistic children to gain confidence in themselves and assist them in becoming more independent. The donation will partly finance the cost of this programme for a 14-year old autistic girl.

Citadel has been supporting various philanthropic organisations over the last 20 years. The need was felt to have a proper structure to address the company’s corporate social responsibility commitments and earlier this year a group of employees teamed up to form the company’s first CSR team.

The organisation of numerous corporate social responsibility events for all employees of Citadel has helped to instill an increased awareness of the challenges of the local community, the company said.
