My deepest condolonces to President George Abela.
Persons George Abeal snr, do not leave a legacy of achievments in politics and public life. However they are the unsung heroes. Like my late father did, they toil day and night to give an education to their children, to impart on them moral values, to stress integrity, honesty, respect for authority and love for our country.
I can imagine what passed through the mind of H.E. when he saw his father on his deadbed.
When my father died, I cried my heart out. Not only because he was gone but because I still miss his common sense advice. When I went into politics, he told me. ''Son Never forget where you started Love and cherish those who love you. Forgive those who harm you'' . That advice still hangs prominentaly in my modest office in my house.
I have always beleived that , God gives each child two fathers. The one they dream of and the one they have. I am sure that George Abela senior was a father every chid dreamf of.

RIP Mr.Abela and condolences to His Excellency the President of the Republic and his family. When the President used to live in Tarxien I used to admire Mr.Abela tending to the trees in Dr.Abela's front garden. Now he will be giving a helping hand in the garden of the Creator.
