Obituary

GONZI. On September 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, LUIGI, of Valletta, aged 89, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children, Sr Margaret of the Convent of the Good Shepherd, Balzan, Lawrence and his wife Kate, Michael and his wife Anna and Paulanne and her husband Marcel, his grandchildren and their respective spouses, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves today from Mater Dei Hospital at 9.30 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m., followed by private interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

SAMMUT. On September 6, at St Vincent de Paul residence, SALVINA of Attard, residing in Mosta, aged 78, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmen Camilleri and Mark and his wife Audrey, her grandchildren Bernard, Ruth, Jeremy and John, her brother Ninu and his wife Josephine, residing in Australia, her sisters-in-law Maria and Rita, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 3 p.m. for Mosta Rotunda parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m., followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

First aid courses

St John Ambulance will be holding first aid courses this month.

A course starts on September 18 and will fun for five consecutive Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Another kicks off on September 24, running for nine consecutive Fridays between 5.30 and 7.30 p.m.

The fee for the entire course is €35, which includes training material and certification.

Registrations will be accepted on Tuesday evenings from 6.30 to 7.30 at 5, Independence square, Valletta.
