The Central Bank has issued silver and gold coins depicting the façade of the Auberge d’Italie, in Valletta as part of the Europa Programme 2010 on cultural heritage.

The other side of the coins show the emblem of Malta and the year of issue – 2010.

The auberge, situated in Merchants Street, houses the offices of the Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, the Environment and Culture and the Malta Tourism Authority. The Europa Star, the official logo of the Europa programme, is also shown on the reverse side of the coins.

The silver coin is available for sale at €44 while the gold coin sells at €269 including VAT.

They can be purchased from the Malta Coins Distribution Centre, Central Bank of Malta, Castille Square, Valletta, or via www.centralbankmalta.org.
